I watched the episode "Put on a happy face" The social values didn't seem too different from today's values, the lady wanted to look nice for the dinner or whatever it was and the guy that went with her was really embarrassed by her because she was not dressed like she was suppose to be dressed. Also the weird room mate lady or who ever she was, mentioned a "fat attack" and I really think that females these days are scared of eating fat things too... Some reference to jokes I didn't get because I don't live in that time period but It was an okay show I guess.
I guess they were successful in portraying what they were doing... I found this old show semi-entertaining.

Stargate Universe
Well after the cancellation of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, there is a new stargate series starting up in the fall, called STARGATE UNIVERSE.
Don't really know much about it, except for this stuff. Click Here to go there.
Also there is this Trailer that was aired during the series finale of Battlestar Galactica.

Negitive feelings twords TV
A lot was going on in the years of 1955-1965, all the civil rights stuff, and the war etc...
People felt that TV was slating things, or not reporting on stuff equally.
Kind of like propaganda.

sci-fi = syfy !!
NOOO!! I am deeply offended by this.
Sci-fi is changing their name to "syfy" because they feel that the name "sci-fi" is to geeky and they want to appeal to a larger audence... That's all well and good but what about the programing on the station will that now appeal to a larger audience... more reality shows prehaps, more pointless boring crap TV's made on almost no money? I sure hope not, I want more TV shows like Battlestar Galactica, and Stargate... O yeah, I hear a new Stargate TV show is starting up soon... Hopfully it's good.

Battlestar Galactica!!!
Okay so after 5 years and 4 seasons plus a miniseries and a direct to DVD movie Battlestar is going to end this Friday with a 2 hour series finale!! I think it starts at 9:00 est
But like holy @#$# that show is amazing... I just wish they did a little better on the reward for all the build up, but this last episode is suppose to be really good and really resolve everything. The writers have really promised not to leave "winking" so to say. So it will be a definitive ending and all such goodness.
It's such a good dark and gritty show, but underneath that there is real human emotions and a bright side but as the writer said... ,"after a nuclear holocaust how happy can you get?"
Apparently a prequel to the show is already been signed by NBC/sci-fi channle. It's called "Caprica" (the name of the really ritch and sciency planet in the colionies) and it deals with the creation of the human cylons. (skin jobs ^_^)

What I have learned.
I found it really surprising that they tried to make the first TV's with a mechanical rotating disk. It just sounded like a really really dumb idea to me.
Yeah I'm kind of more interested in the tech then all the political and social stuff the book rambles on about forever.

Old and new TV
I watched the Waltons, Because my mom watches it sometimes...
It's very different compared to newer TV shows, first of all the overall story; I don't think that if today someone made a show with a similar story that it would last very long or even get singed in the first place. It is just to boring for TV now a days. Second of all there is no reference to sex (from what I saw anyway) There are no girls in scantly clad clothing or anything like that. In TV shows now a days it's hard to find a show that dose not have the things I just mentioned.
Also the show seems to be a little bit more goofy, or less serious.
It seems today that movies especially they are all trying to be "gritty" and mature, etc...
The new TV I watched this week are the same three shows I watched last week, those would be. Battlestar Galactica, LOST and Fringe. Battlestar dose a great job with this "gritty" atmosphear. Even the way the camera moves adds to it. And the level of detail on the computer modles and the set versions of the same modles are amazing. They really add to the grittyness and the realistic aspect of it.
I really think that for a true TV show (not some stupid "reality show") to work, they cost a lot more money then a TV show would have cost 20 -25 years ago, or even longer ago.

What I watched this week.
This week the only TV that I watched were the TV shows that I like.
Those are as follows:
Battlestar Galactica, I watched this because it's an amazing show and I've been following it sense the mini series. It's now playing out the final 10 episodes.
Epic Trailer
LOST, This show is cool, I've been watching it sense season 1. Despite what people say about it;its really quite intriguing.
Fringe: This show is made by one of the writers of LOST I do believe, so I watched the first episode and then I was hooked! I really like it, sci-fi stuff always gets me.
